LeBron James has taken allot of flack since he decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and move over to the Miami Heat. To be honest with you I don’t blame him. You only get a certain amount of years to make your mark in the NBA and for most people the only way to leave your mark is to win championships. For every legend with multiple championships like Magic, Bird and Jordan you have a championship-less players like Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing and Karl Malone. So LeBron although young (25) is looking at the fact that he has been in the NBA for 7 years and yet to touch a trophy. I think it also stems form the Lakers. The Lakers have won back to back championships the team is relatively young and they are stacked. So he had to do something and frankly the talent in Cleveland was not going to get it done. So when i was thinking about that i came across this pic, it’s a thumbnail but click on it and take a closer look. It’s the 2008 USA Basketball Dream team in Beijing and as youc an see everyone in the picture is looking at the camera except one. Now it might just be me but doesn’t it look like LeBron is staring at Kobe? And not with a “Man I really like Kobe look” more like “Man I need to beat this guy and his team” look. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me but I don’t fault LeBron one bit.

So if you have been living and spend anytime on the internet you probably have seen this on Youtube or a blog. Antoine Dodson’s sister was assaulted by someone who broke into her house and attempted to rape her. Antoine downstairs at the time came running up and helped to fend of the assailant. All of this took place in Huntsville, Alabama and was covered by the local news agency.

Now I have to admit although the circumstances are nothing to laugh at the interview with Mr. Dodson is tooo funny!! But it doesn’t end there, Mr. Dodson’s journey through the internet highways and byways doesn’t end there. Since then Mr. Dodson has become an internet sensation with video’s popping up all over Youtube. Like the Autotune’s version

Is that it? no were not done with you yet Mr. Dodson. How about the Antoine Dodson Church Announcement!!

Anyway go on Youtube and search for “Antoine Dodson” and you can see all the videos out.

Now when you think of reasons for your kids not to have a cell phone, going over the minutes, sending inappropriate messages, talking into the wee hours of the night. I am sure no one envisions having this problem. A NJ woman arrested for DUI after her 12 year old daughter called 911 from the back seat of her swerving car.

A 12-year-old girl called 911 from a car on Interstate 84 in New York earlier this week. The emergency? She reported her mother was not speaking properly and was weaving into other lanes while she was driving.

Now, Jamie Hicks, 48, of Islip, N.Y., faces more than a year in jail on felony drunken driving charges.

The girl and a 10-year-old were still in the car July 25, when New York State police arrested Hicks and charged her with driving while intoxicated. According to police reports, her blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.

The New York Post reports the arrest was made at about 6 p.m.

Hicks was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on $1,000 bail and was released today.
Capt. Robert Nuzzo of the New York State Police Department tells ParentDish Hicks is scheduled to appear in court at 3 p.m. on Aug. 17. He says she was arrested under Leandra’s Law, a New York law that makes it a felony to drive drunk with children in the vehicle.

The law, which went into effect Dec. 18, 2009, was named after Leandra Rosado, an 11-year-old girl who was killed on the West Side Highway in New York City two months earlier when her friend’s mother, Carmen Huertas, flipped the car they were in while allegedly drunk. Six other children also were injured during the incident.

If found guilty of the felony, Nuzzo tells ParentDish, Hicks could face more than a year behind bars.

EMT Accused of Ignoring Dying Woman Is Shot Dead

(July 19) — Police are searching for the gunman who fatally shot a New York City emergency medical worker under investigation for allegedly ignoring a dying pregnant woman.

Jason Green, 32, was shot twice Sunday at 5 a.m. after his friend was turned away from a nightclub, Detective Marc Nell said. Police said that after Green got into an altercation with a man, a gunman got out of a car, shot him twice in the torso and fled.

There were no arrests or suspects as of this morning, Nell said.

Green and another EMT were suspended for a month without pay following the Dec. 9 death of Au Bon Pain cashier Eutisha Rennix, and the case is still under investigation, according to reports.

Rennix, 25, was in distress when employees in the restaurant asked Green and the other worker to help her. The two reportedly said they were on a break and told employees to call for help. An ambulance was called but Rennix, who was six months pregnant, and her fetus did not survive.

Rennix died of cardiopulmonary arrest brought on by chronic bronchial asthma, The New York Times reported.

Meanwhile, Rennix’s relatives offered sympathy to Green’s family.

“As a mother who has been through this kind of loss, I have to feel for his family,” her mother Cynthia told the New York Post. “Even though what he did to my daughter was an injustice, I am sorry for him and, especially, for his mother.”

Rennix’s sister, Marva, told the paper: “We thought what he did was inhuman. But he didn’t deserve [to be shot]. You have to live your life right, because when you do wrong things, life has a way of bringing bad things back to you.”

New Yorkers who live near the nightclub said the area is troublesome, plagued by noise and violence.

“I hate to say it, but we’ve been waiting for something like this to happen,” Silvia Beam, president of the Vandam Street Block Association, told the Post.

Police have not tied the Green’s shooting to the death of Rennix.

“There is no indication that is the case,” police spokesman Paul Browne told the New York Daily

So today was a pretty strange day. The biggest player in basketball held a news conference and announced he was riding off into the sunset with two other All-Stars (one arguably a superstar in Dwyane Wade). I personally have never seen anything like it and not sure I will anytime soon but the best theatrics of the night was yet to come. Dan Gilbert the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers posted an open letter to Cavs fans castigating his former player who he was furiously courting just hours earlier. Here is the letter verbatim:

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his “decision” unlike anything ever “witnessed” in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don’t deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

“I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE”

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our “motivation” to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that’s simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown “chosen one” sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And “who” we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called “curse” on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former “King” will be taking the “curse” with him down south. And until he does “right” by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day….

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue….

Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

Now I can understand the anger and pain of losing not only the talent but all the revenue that goes along with a LeBron James leaving your franchise but it’s pretty funny how these owners and managers of pro teams can be so indignant when they feel they have been slighted but they have no qualms about booting, cutting, trading, suspending, fining or outright renouncing players as they see fit!! Hey Dan grow up!!! There are plenty of other players out there, sign some and get back to work.

John Wooden (October 14, 1910 – June 4, 2010), a staid Midwesterner who migrated to U.C.L.A. and became college basketball’s most successful coach, earning the nickname the Wizard of Westwood and an enduring place in sports history, died Friday at Ronald Reagan U.C.L.A. Medical Center, where he had been hospitalized since May 26. He was 99.

He was a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player (class of 1961) and as a coach (class of 1973). He was the first person ever enshrined in both categories; only Lenny Wilkens and Bill Sharman have since been so honored. His ten NCAA national championships in a 12-year period while at U.C.L.A. are unmatched by any other college basketball coach.

I logged onto Facebook today (can’t be many more month until that is not in my vocab anymore, See Myspace) and I was presented with a post from someone I went to elementary school and Junior High with. In the post he had posted a pic of President Obama at the Nuclear Security Summit with the caption “BOW TO CHINESE COMMUNIST”.

Ok I guess this was supposed to mean that President Obama Kowtow’s to Communist, Marxist, Socialist Regimes and is part of the overall socialist movement to bring down the USA and plunge the world into a Communist red state. I guess you could look at it that way if you paint all your thinking with a political slant. And that is whats so frustrating in the political debate because the other side (or whatever side you may be on) we cannot have a open honest political debate if all your arguments are based on fanning wild conspiracy theories and never actually talking about real issues. For me I would take a look at that picture and say okay what is customary for dignitaries to do when greeting each other. Let’s take a look at Dubya our previous president.

Okay so here he is bowing to a dignitary at the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). I don’t know was the socialist experiment started with Dubya before Obama?

Well hmm, here is Dubya bowing to the Pope, I don’t think the Pope is socialist but who knows I could be wrong.

Maybe I should go further back!

Okay here is Eisenhower bowing to the Pope, this is really starting to get interesting this whole conspiracy is actually older then I thought.

Wow and last but not least Eisenhower bowing to the Queen so the Brits are in on this too!! I think you get the picture, can we lay off the bombastic rhetoric and actually bring up some valid arguments?
